America!

God bless America. God help us to remember you as our true commander and chief. November 11th, 2011 is veterans day. Just say thanks to a man or woman who has fought for us or been in any type of service to strengthen our borders. Thank you, thank you. I am grateful to be able to serve by being a caretaker for 4 men who are veterans. I love these men as they struggle through their physical pains and emotional needs. They are veterans because they chose to serve. Let us now return the favor by helping a vet with a high five or a smile or thank you. God bless America.

Fall

I am ready for some nice fall weather. I love the summer, and I love the fall. The leaves are falling all around, and the crisp air blows across the yard. Baseball playoffs, football, and harvest time. I am ready for Jesus to come back. Time is ticking down, and we all must share the news that only Jesus can help this world. Tell everyone that you meet. Pray for your families, they are under attack like never before. Pray for God's protection and supernatural provision. This is the greatest time to be alive as Jesus will shine among us. Be Blessed.

August in Myrtle Beach!

I love August. It starts to cool down, and transition to fall. Right now Karen and I are in Myrtle Beach South Carolina celebrating our 35th anniversary. We traveled on July 31st to Laurinburg, SC where we had a free night at a Days Inn.We found a Bojangles and downed a 2 piece chicken dinner at midnight. We were so tired and slept very well. We ate breakfast and left for our condo in Myrtle Beach. The resort is called Sea Watch Plantation and is tucked away from the businesses. We checked in and began to laugh over and over again. We are on vacation. We are on the 16th floor and can see for miles all around. Walmart is 2 minutes away so we went to get a few things. Tuesday we went to the beach. The water temp was over 80, and I just floated over the breakers. So nice to relax. The temp has been in high 90's all week. Karen and I had to decide between the pool or the beach. Every night at 9:35 pm the fireworks went off right outside our window. They are so loud, and beautiful. Coffee and newspaper every morning were fine for me while Karen slept in. Thursday at lunch we rode to North Myrtle Beach to Hoskins restaurant where we ate seafood platters. Karen had shrimp and scallops and I had crab cake, shrimp, scallops, flounder, and oysters. We had to take home over half the lunch. For dessert we took home a fresh piece of coconut cream pie. Next came a nap. Every night we laughed at the children shining their green lazer lights all over the place. The Wyndham night guards had their hands full as many of the young people were abusing the lights. Later we found that the lasers can hurt an apple ipad by hitting the screen. Today is August 5th and we have checked into Ocean Blvd. The rains have opened up, and we are relaxing on the 2nd floor close to the ocean. This weekend we are going to the Melting Pot near 48th street in Myrtle Beach. I am tempted to try the 4 course meal. We love Myrtle Beach. Sunday is our 35th anniversary. We met in Pennsylvania, moved all over the East Coast, and now live in the mountains of West Virginia. Our three boys are all married now and are living for Jesus. Karen and I are now enjoying a new phase in our lives. This trip has been a very peaceful restful time for us. See you all when we get back North.

wedding!

June 11th 2011 our youngest son Joel married Brandi Miller in West Va. What a precious young couple. Karen's family came to show love for Joel and Brandi. My cousin Laverne and husband Bill came from Connecticut . Everyone really enjoyed the service. The marriage of a young couple gives satan a black eye, as God gets much glory when the two unite. I am so proud of them as they will be starting a full time ministry in August. Congratulations Joel and Brandi.

New Job Position

It has been a while since I have blogged. May 9th I started a new job. I am a care giver to two elderly clients. I love it because I get to talk to them while I clean, cook, and run errands for them. I have always had seniors in my heart, and feel that this new position will have many benefits that will follow me all the days of my life. My town is filled with a lot of depression, loneliness, homeless, broken families, and poor folks. I feel that I am here to spread some cheer and some kindness to the residents of my housing apartments.
My job is easy and gets boring at times, but is very rewarding as I see them smile. Life is short and I have always tried to give my best to to everyone that I meet. When I walk down the city streets getting a prescription I get to meet policeman, the mayor, the pharmacist, and many business men and women. I met a new friend that is 81 years old and goes around helping the people on her floor. She is amazing! They just want a family member to visit them or call them. Jesus reminds us to be friendly to everyone.
This Monday tell a veteran that you appreciate them. It is Memorial day!

My life's Journey

Feb 16-19th I went to a meeting in Va Beach where I needed to get away from all of my stress. I have had a whirlwind of struggles over the last 5 years since I was diagnosed with Bipolar 1 in August of 2005.During one of the meetings I felt while praying, I released a lot of anger, bitterness, and frustrations in my life.

Then on the last night I received a clear mind, where I saw a Rubik cube being unscrambled in my brain. My calendars were cleared of 5 years of bad judgments and choices. I am staying close to my wife, therapist, and psychiatrist who will monitor my actions. I am still on my meds, and will wean off slowly. I will stay here for all of my friends. Hopefully you all will see a changed man. I love you all, and know that this may be the real deal for me. I know what a religious hyper experience is and this is different .I still struggle with anxiety and some other things. Keep in touch.

Cold!

January is a cold month. I do much better in the spring and summer. Only 3 more months of cold weather. I have always enjoyed snow as a boy making snow forts and throwing snow balls at my brothers. But as I get older I realize that the snow, and the cold are reminders of a persons life. When you are young you have little worries in the world. Everything is fresh and natural and beautiful. As you get older you begin to fret and anguish over little things. Life can lose its shine if you allow the things of the world to tarnish your vision. When you get much older you then gain a new perspective that nothing is important except what is most important, and things begin to come back around. Your family means so much, and money and success mean so little. Life does come around to being simple again. I am finding pleasure in the simple things of life. I love my wife, my family, children, and seniors. I feel kind of warm tonight. Family makes you warm doesn't it.
