World Series

My guess- Detroit tigers vs Saint Louis cardinals.

Fall leaves

Take time to stop and enjoy the beautiful colors around. This is almost peak season in the West Virginia panhandle. I see red, yellow, green, orange, and brown foliage everywhere. So take time to enjoy the beauty all around you.

Tecnology

I have a short comment on modern technology. It may be great for learning and ease but tech sure takes a lot of people away form the things they love the most, family. I am 57 and try very hard to keep up with my boys toys. I have always loved tech and it probably has cost thousands of dollars to make my life " more enjoyable". Technology is given by God I believe to help us work more efficiently. I sometimes find myself technology surfing to make sure that I am up on new gadgets. When I had a sprint flip phone in 1999 I thought I was doing great. My flip phone made calls,  took pictures and saved addresses. I got an updated version a few years later and was doing well. Then around 2005 I just knew I needed a Blackberry. So started the age of the smart phones. My blackberry did just about everything for me. Eventually it started to crash and slow down. So in 2012 Karen and I upgraded to apple i phones and I thought I was in heaven.
To my amazement I find myself trying to use my phone to make life a bit easier. I download apps that seem to help me do things better. I use gas buddy, RCI, Wyndham,  weather channel, maps, GPS, twitter, Facebook, Dominoes pizza, kindle, ancestry, news, Google plus, ESPN, and many more.
I have a Yamaha Concert Grand Piano, video camera, and a very nice Visio Flat screen HD TV.All of  these technologically  advanced items are great in themselves. I just wish to challenge every man and woman who reads this to think about one thing. Technology  can be our friend or it can run our lives to the point that we may not really have that much extra time to spend with our families.Try to find that balance and just turn off your tech one day and breathe. Have a nice quiet day.

iPhone app

Just downloaded google blogger for my iPhone and I love it. The reason they call it a smart phone is because it really is smart. Thanks apple.

Fall colors, baseball, and food!

I love the fall season. The leaves are starting to change here. Leaves are falling rapidly and football fans have begun to  make their mark on who will be standing in the end. I love fall as it brings an end to a hot summer. The nights are cool and the days are pleasant. Today is 46 degrees and rainy. I decided to write today. Fall season always brings family together for dinners, harvest parties, pictures, and great fellowship. I love the candy too.
Next fall brings baseball. I have always been a fan of MLB but this year I really have a reason to shout. My Baltimore Orioles are in the play offs for the first time since 1997.The fall air brings around 8 teams trying to gain access to the World Series. I am guessing that the Washington Nationals will play the
Detroit Tigers for the crown. Baseball has always brought thousands of folks together to root for their favorite teams. Baseball goes back many years as our national pastime.
The fall season also brings us to holidays of travel and plenty of fun times. I am glad to be a part of  a great family.

New job

I was working for a company that moved me around with va vets. Today I started a new job with one man working full time. He is 92 and is a sweet gentleman. I will save gas and maintenance on my Toyota. I will now have time to journal about life.
