I have a short comment on modern technology. It may be great for learning and ease but tech sure takes a lot of people away form the things they love the most, family. I am 57 and try very hard to keep up with my boys toys. I have always loved tech and it probably has cost thousands of dollars to make my life " more enjoyable". Technology is given by God I believe to help us work more efficiently. I sometimes find myself technology surfing to make sure that I am up on new gadgets. When I had a sprint flip phone in 1999 I thought I was doing great. My flip phone made calls, took pictures and saved addresses. I got an updated version a few years later and was doing well. Then around 2005 I just knew I needed a Blackberry. So started the age of the smart phones. My blackberry did just about everything for me. Eventually it started to crash and slow down. So in 2012 Karen and I upgraded to apple i phones and I thought I was in heaven.
To my amazement I find myself trying to use my phone to make life a bit easier. I download apps that seem to help me do things better. I use gas buddy, RCI, Wyndham, weather channel, maps, GPS, twitter, Facebook, Dominoes pizza, kindle, ancestry, news, Google plus, ESPN, and many more.
I have a Yamaha Concert Grand Piano, video camera, and a very nice Visio Flat screen HD TV.All of these technologically advanced items are great in themselves. I just wish to challenge every man and woman who reads this to think about one thing. Technology can be our friend or it can run our lives to the point that we may not really have that much extra time to spend with our families.Try to find that balance and just turn off your tech one day and breathe. Have a nice quiet day.
